Tyco Mattel Hot Wheel Team Race Challenge Set Review

In this set review edition we will look at a Tyco Mattel set that had ‘computerized’ lap timer and pit stop features. The track itself ran nice with about any brand of car we tried. The computer – however – was a failure. It did not count ever lap even different brands of cars. The pit stop features were more frustrating than interesting.

  1. Is it possible that the occasional (or not so occasional) lack of lap counting is a "game" aspect of the computer?
Possibly not counting laps in order to "simulate" other aspects of real-world racing that can't be physically included in the slot car set performance?
Maybe you should do some experimenting and see if missed laps are associated with other "events" as displayed in the computers activities.
The "simulation game" aspect is the only thing that seems reasonable to me in how the computer appears to be performing.
